Frequently asked questions

please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Does it look real?

Absolutely. With over 30 years’ experience in the hair industry, we know what hair should look like and how it grows. Multiple shades of pigment are carefully built up to create a totally natural look. Our expertise, combined with the latest technology means the result is incredibly realistic and no one will be able to tell you’ve undergone treatment.

What happens during a treatment?

During your treatment, medical grade, hypoallergenic pigment will be implanted just under the top layer of skin using a handheld, electronic device. Tiny follicle impressions are added to the scalp taking into consideration the natural hairline, tone and desired effect.

How long does treatment take?

Treatments take between one and four hours and the total number of sessions will depend on your level of hair loss and the look you desire. Most clients need between two and four sessions, with results visible from the first session.

Does SMP hurt?

You will feel discomfort, this is a tattoo procedure after all. But ‘discomfort’ is the word clients use rather than pain. The discomfort will be minimised by making sure you are in good health on the day of your treatment, we advise clients to eat beforehand and be well rested. A test patch at your initial consultation is a good way to experience the feeling and put your mind at rest.

How long does scalp micropigmentation last?

Once treatment is complete the effect will last for several years, depending on the level of care taken to protect your scalp. Typically, clients request a ‘refresh’ treatment after 2-3 years to restore any fading.

How much does it cost?

Prices range from around £450 – £2000 depending on the size of the area needing treatment. Take a look at our pricing page for more information or get in touch for a personalised, no obligation quote.

Am I restricted in any way after treatment?

After each session you’ll be given advice on how to care for your scalp. This typically involves avoiding high intensity exercise for a few days to minimise sweating and following a normal hygiene routine. You may notice a small amount of redness after each treatment, but this will subside within a day or so.
